Gardens to visit
In this section I write about veg gardens we’ve visited, like Holkham Hall and Knightshayes. I’ll also be writing about those that are open and other news about garden visits. Last year, we spent happy hours at Holkham Hall in the walled garden, with Mr Hearth examining the glass houses – mostly the metal work and mechanisms. I was more interested in the veg and fruit as well as the hens. It thrilled my northern soul to see chillies growing outdoors. More of that later.
Don’t forget to keep an eye out for local allotment and community garden events in your area in the summer months. We’re all learning all the time and it’s great to see how people use their spaces.
